The Production Leader is responsible for managing and supervising the production team to ensure the efficient and effective operation of the production line. This role requires a hands-on leader who can drive productivity, maintain high-quality standards, and ensure that production targets are met on time.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Supervise Production Activities:
- Oversee daily production operations to ensure that production schedules are met.
- Coordinate with different departments, such as logistics, quality control, and maintenance, to ensure seamless production flow.
Team Leadership:
- Manage, train, and motivate a team of production workers, operators, and technicians.
- Foster a positive working environment, promote teamwork, and address any personnel issues that arise.
Quality Control:
- Ensure that all products meet quality standards and specifications.
- Implement and monitor quality control procedures and make adjustments as necessary to maintain product quality.
Safety and Compliance:
- Ensure that all safety protocols are followed, and that the production area is safe and compliant with regulations.
- Conduct regular safety audits and training sessions to minimize workplace accidents and injuries.
Process Improvement:
- Work with Manufacturing Engineering to identify areas for improvement and implement strategies to optimize production efficiency.
- Implement lean manufacturing principles and other best practices to reduce waste and increase productivity.
Inventory and Resource Management:
- Manage inventory levels to ensure that materials and resources are
available for production.
Reporting and Documentation:
- Prepare and present regular production reports to management.
- Maintain accurate records of production activities, including labor hours, output levels, and equipment maintenance.
Experience and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, Business, or a related field (preferred).
- 3-5 years of experience in a production or manufacturing environment, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
Skills/ Traits should include:
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes, lean principles, and quality control.
- Proficiency in using production management software and tools.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
