Through the decades, MPBC has maintained its technological leadership through an on-going commitment to R&D. MPBC invest ~20% of its annual revenues into research and development. This is a core strength of the company, as the need to continuously evolve the technology with the changing demands and new requirements is recognized and prioritized. We are eager to take on new development challenges, whether for new markets which could use our technology or for advances in the markets which we currently serve. We pride ourselves on having a preeminent staff whose talent and enthusiasm we draw upon to meet the demands of our customers.

- Founding member of the consortium for the Tokamak de Varennes Project and collaborator of le Centre canadien de fusion magnetique
- Acquisition of the National Research Council of Canada’s EMC facility
- $80M contract for the undersea branching multiplexers and special terminal equipment for TAT-9
1990’s
- $11M contract for Telerobotics Development Systems
- Acquisition of the Electronic Test Centre from the Alberta Research Council
- MPBC’s CHAMPS payload launched on Shuttle Flight STS-57 Endeavour
- MPBC’s ARF payload deployed on MIR Space Station
- Deployment of MPBC’s 1st repeaterless system 280 km MINOAS
- Deployment of MPBC’s first ROPA system 323 km CAT DFON Network
2000’s
- Deployment of MPBC’s 1st Super Raman Pump (SMITCOM)
- Deployment of MPBC’s FBG sensors and Fiber Laser interrogation system on the ESA PROBA 2 Satellite
- Deployment of MPBC’s first Super Raman Pump in an OPGW Network (CFE)
